Ron's plaque for LPDV
The plaque is made of Mahogany wood and the writing is done by laser.
My understanding is that the plaque will be located outside the Principles office.
For those who knew Ron, the location by the Principle's office is appropriate. I think it should be in the Kitchen! Ron would be 1st in line.
"Because we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance in order to implement them." Ephesians 2:10

LPDV Testimonies
The picture of Estefan and his dad I took in 2002. The father would drop off his son and pick him up everyday on his motor bike. Other children come by cars and bus. I think Estefan was on scholarship for him to attend LPDV?

The stories below illustrate how God has used LPDV to further His Kingdom.
On a voluntary basis, parent of elementary school children who have studied at LPDV since preschool were recently asked to write letters expressing how the school has affected their children. Here is a sampling of three responses (translated from Spanish to English).
A. From a third grade mother: "... even though I am a Roman Catholic, I see many deficiencies in how our church educates us about the existence of God... When Jamie started to receive 'Bible' classes with Teacher Lauren at La Palabra de Vida and started to talk with me about Psalms that they were studying. I felt so relieved because I felt that more than just studying the Bible {academically], they were teaching how to live with God in your heart... I feel that my son is truly developing a relationship with God... I know that Jamie is learning in La Palabra de Vida who God and Jesus are, according to what the Bible establishes... this institution has been very respectful of people who do not belong to their congregation [the denomination of the founders of the school, or evangelicals in general], on the contrary they have made us feel very welcome."
B. From a mother with two children in the school: "... after six years, every day I am surprised to see the progress that my children have made academically, socially, and most importantly spiritually. I have fought during their years of life to teach them the wonders of God, and it has been very difficult to make them understand the importance of giving their lives to Christ, but the institution has achieved what I have not. You {La Palabra de Vida}, with the help of the holy Spirit have managed to plant in their hearts to love and fear God."
C. From a second grade father: "During the two and a half years that my son has been a regular student at the center, I have noticed not only progress in his academics, but also in the spiritual area. A very gratifying experience was the gift that my son received from the school when he graduated from Kindergarten: a children's Bible which he could, and has read. It has given him, for his age, an ample knowledge of the Scriptures."

Deforestation
Going.................
Gone...........
The Ficus tree was a source of many sleepless nights. The seeds would fall on the metal roof on and off during the night. Ear plugs helped a lot. The ear plugs will still be necessary because the snoring I'm sure will still go on.
The tree removal will just make it easier when the old building get taken down for the next building project.
Now the Rats can't hide behind the tree.

October 14th Meeting with Matt and Lisa..
There was a large turn out for our 1st MIM's Costa Rica Meeting. Wes started everyone in singing "Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus" and we all got to meet Arthur E. Hill.
Matt and Lisa talked about the school and projects and needs. We prayed that the High School group will be able to get their Visa'a on Thursday so they will be able to come to Wheaton in January for 3 weeks. We prayed especially for Gretel that she would have no problems getting the Visa.
Matt showed pictures on the buildings progress. This Blog has most of the projects that need to be accomplished before the new school year.
Prayer for the Befus support concerns. Also to finish out the school year strong and a safe trip home on Friday.
Our Scripture verse this year is Ephesians 2:10.
The next meeting will be in the Common's building in the Stars room, same as last year on Monday November 9th at 7pm.
The following meetings are December 7th and January 4th.
The Lord has already put together this Team if you know it or not. If undecided pray about going. If the Lord wants you to go,submit your application and reserve your seat on the plane and prepare to do a lot of work and give all the glory to our Lord.

Construction Priorities
Click on doc.
Hi guys,
It will be good to see you Wheaton guys next week. I look forward the the MIM meeting.
Attached you will find a jpg image of the construction priorities for the school in both the short and long term. Some decisions have been made by the academic and administrative directors here that have caused a rearrangement of priorities.
Finishing the K-P building for use by students in February is still on top (along with getting the playground down there), but we also want to get the high school computer lab moved underneath the gym, in the room that is currently used for art (Ray and Sigrid's bedroom in January). There are a number of good reasons to do this. For me the most important is having the computer lab next to the library...
So, with this change we could really use electricians and computer network people (there's lots of work for you here, Ray). Of course we also still need skilled cabinet-maker carpenters.
See some of you next week!
-Matt
